Welcome!

This site is here to keep you updated on my current academic projects as both a student and as an educator.

I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Missouri in Columbia. My masters degree was completed in Spring 2007 here at MU. I earned my B.A. in Communication from Biola University in 1997.

My professional journalism experience is in newspapers but my research interests have taken me into participatory journalism and user-generated content.

To date most of my research has been done in the use of mass media to help strengthen bonds between people and groups in communities.
